How Post cleans a take

Four moments, always in this order: diagnose, plan, run, review. Each one has a page of its own below.

Diagnose

Every take you upload is diagnosed automatically. Post reads the file, finds the gaps, swaps, merges and jitter in it, and gives the take two things:

• a confidence figure — how cleanly Post expects to be able to fix it;
• a Cleanup forecast — Clean, Light cleanup, Significant effort or Hard, so you can see how much work a take needs before you spend any time on it. See Cleanup forecast.

Nothing is changed by a diagnosis. The Before screen shows what was found.

Plan

Tick a take on the Run screen in Assisted mode and the third column shows its Cleanup Plan: the steps Post will take, in order, with what each one is waiting on. The plan is built from that take's own diagnosis, so no two takes get the same one. See The Cleanup Plan.

Run

Launch and the same plan lights up as steps finish. Your raw capture is never touched — every run lands as a new Clean v1, Clean v2, and so on.

The two things the run is most often asked about have their own pages:

• Jitter: cut, not smoothed over — what the jitter sensitivity does, and the two rules that never move.
• Fills, seams and holes — how a gap is filled, how the joins are conditioned, and when Post leaves a hole open on purpose.

Review

The After screen shows the measured result: a verdict, the Cleanup Plan filled in with what actually happened, an Audit block, and What the AI changed · per region — one card per region with what changed, which model produced it, and a Revert button.

What Post does not do

• It does not solve skeletons. Post is a marker-space cleaner; a solved skeleton carried through an export is the one you uploaded, and it needs a re-solve in your own tool.
• It does not invent capture that was never recorded. A performer out of volume, or a capture dropout, stays a hole — see Holes left open.
• It does not convert formats on export yet. Use Keep original.
• It does not overwrite your raw file, ever.
